PTSD Coach

Best for: Anyone dealing with PTSD symptoms, veteran or not, who wants a structured coping toolkit alongside or before formal treatment.

What is PTSD Coach?

PTSD Coach comes from the VA National Center for PTSD and the Defense Department's National Center for Telehealth and Technology, built for people who have, or think they might have, PTSD. It is free, walks you through a self-assessment, explains what professional treatment looks like, and gives you coping tools — relaxation drills, ways to talk yourself down, anger-management tactics — that you can rearrange around your own routine and load with your own contacts, photos, or music. It works whether you are already in therapy or have not started. The limitation: this is a self-help companion, not a clinician. The self-assessment flags concerns, it does not diagnose, and nothing here replaces a real therapist.
