Calm

Best for: A guy whose main issue is a noisy brain at bedtime and wants something passive to listen to rather than an active mental-health program.

What is Calm?

Calm is the sleep-and-meditation app you've probably seen an ad for during a game or a podcast. The pitch is broad: guided meditations, breathing drills, mindful stretching, and a stack of Sleep Stories, basically bedtime stories for adults read by celebrity narrators. If racing thoughts at 11pm are your actual problem, that's the part worth trying. The meditation side covers stress, focus, and habit-breaking too, but it's a general-audience library, not a program built around men or male-specific stressors. Everything past the free download sits behind a subscription or a flat lifetime fee, with no way to buy single sessions. Fine as a low-effort wind-down tool; not a substitute for dealing with what's actually keeping you up.
