ACT Coach

Best for: Veterans or anyone actively doing ACT therapy with a provider who wants between-session practice tools.

What is ACT Coach?

ACT Coach comes straight from the VA's National Center for PTSD, built for veterans and anyone doing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with a real therapist. It's not a stand-alone self-help app — the official site says flatly it's meant to run alongside sessions with a mental health provider, reinforcing skills between appointments rather than teaching them cold. Inside you get mindfulness exercises (breathing, walking, eating, observing thoughts and emotions), tools for identifying your values and turning them into concrete actions, plus logs to track practice over time. No ads, no subscription, no sign-up wall. If you're already in ACT therapy, it's a solid companion. If you're looking for therapy in app form, look elsewhere.
